During a chat with Ellen DeGeneres, the 'Welcome to Marwen' actor recalls the accident he experienced when riding his bike, calling it 'a fun fan encounter.'

AceShowbiz - Steve Carell was left shaken up after a car hit him while he was out riding his bike.

"The 40-Year-Old Virgin" star was hit from behind while making a turn "a couple of weeks ago", but he managed to walk away from the accident unscathed.

Opening up about the scare during a taped appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", Steve said, "I was riding (on a) pretty fast road and I made a turn, and I didn't see the car behind me, and they hit me from behind. So I went up over the handlebars."

"It's a weird experience because everything just slows down. I thought, 'Well, I'm gonna tuck and roll' and I rolled, and I got up, and I was fine. Luckily everything was fine."

Carell reveals the woman that accidentally hit him was shocked when she realised who he was.

"The woman who was driving the car jumped out," he said. "She was distraught, obviously, and I went over to her, and my bike was sort of stuck under the front of her car, and she's saying, 'Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God! It's Steve Carell!' She was so excited that she hit me. It was really kind of a fun experience, a fun fan encounter."
