The actress dubs her character the 2018 version of Lois who thinks her journalistic job is the 'utmost importance to her.'

AceShowbiz - Elizabeth Tulloch is opening up about joining the upcoming annual Arrowverse crossover "Elseworlds". The actress, who is also known as Bitsie Tulloch, will be playing Superman's love interest Lois Lane.

Of the role, Tulloch reveals to E! News that "it was a little overwhelming" to take such an iconic character, adding, "I was very honored."

Tulloch reveals that she has been told ever since she can remember that she resembles Margot Kidder, the actress who played the character in the Superman films of the 1970s and 80s in opposite Christopher Reeve's Superman. She goes on saying that Kidder is her inspiration in her acting career.

"All the actors were terrific, but it was very clear to me why Margot Kidder got that role. She just brought an energy and an enthusiasm and a sense of fun and spirit that nobody else really had," she raves.

As for Lois, Tulloch sees her as someone who is always "giving Clark some grief." She explains, "She's sassing him, but she's having fun, like she's always on a quest for adventure, but she really is enjoying herself in the process."

While her version of Lois is not exactly the as the character who has been since she was introduced in 1930, Tulloch shares that something remains pretty consistent with the character. "One thing that has been consistent is that she's very career-oriented," she shares. "Like she has sort of these polarizing qualities, both being very ambitious, almost a little aggressive about getting a story on some level, but she's also really feminine."

"She's also really in love with Clark and there's a lot of romance to her, and that's how I wanted to play it," Tulloch adds.

Tulloch dubs her character the 2018 version of Lois who thinks her journalistic job is the "utmost importance to her." She details, "There aren't necessarily any references to the the fact that like, from my point of view, from Bitsie Tulloch's point of view, journalism is under siege right now. There wasn't anything like that, but she does have a line--without giving it away--that's very modern, it was a very feminist response to what someone said. So I definitely think this is your 2018 Lois Lane."

As for the crossover, Tulloch teases there will be "a lot of pretty sweet moments." She continues, "Like there's a couple with Clark in particular where you really get an insight into why they love each other so much and why they work well together."

"Elseworlds" will kick off on Sunday, December 9 with "The Flash" at 8 P.M. It will later be followed by an "Arrow" episode on Monday, December 10 at 8 P.M. "Supergirl" will conclude on the following night at 8 P.M. on The CW.
