Accepting Woman of the Year Award, the singer explains how the award is special and interesting to her, considering that 'this has been the best years in my career and one of like the worst years in my life.'

AceShowbiz - Ariana Grande was presented with Woman of the Year Award at the 2018 Billboard Women in Music, which was held in New York City on Thursday night, December 6. After an introduction from Patti LaBelle, she took the stage to accept the trophy.
Holding back her tears, the "No Tears Left to Cry" singer explained how the award was special to her, considering that "this has been one of the best years in my career and one of like the worst years in my life." She then went on explaining how interesting it was to receive the award as she felt people who was presented with the honor was "an artist that could be at her peak, reaching her you know, whatever."
"And I think you know, 'She's really got her s**t together; she's really on it; she has got it all.' I do, but as far as my personal life goes I really have no idea what the f**k I am doing," she added. "So yeah, it's been a very conflicting one. I just want to say if you're someone out there who has no idea what this next chapter is going to bring, you're not alone in that."
At one point, it looked like Ariana couldn't hold back her tears any longer so she quickly fanned herself in hopes the tears would dry up. "I'm not going to cry, that's really annoying," she said, before sharing her hopes for the future to conclude the speech. "I look forward to hopefully learning to give some of the love and forgiveness that I've given away so frivolously and easily to men in the past to myself, hopefully, this year."
She continued, "I have everything I've ever dreams of having, and as of late I've discovered that it's the things I've always had and the people I've always had that still make me the happiest."
Prior to accepting the award, Ariana graced the stage to deliver a rendition of her record-breaking single "Thank U, Next". Also performing at the event was Kacey Musgraves, who entertained the audience with a performance of "Butterflies" off her latest album "Golden Hour".
Billboard Women in Music recognizes women in the music industry who have made significant contributions to the business and who, through their work and continued success, inspire generations of women to take on increasing responsibilities within the field. Besides Ariana, this year's event also honored the likes of Hayley Kiyoko and SZA among others.
