The former First Lady asks for fans' understanding as she cancels her book tour appearances to attend the funeral for the late 41st president.

AceShowbiz - Michelle Obama is putting George H. W. Bush before her book tour. One day after news broke out that the 41st U.S. President has passed away, the wife of former president Barack Obama made the announcement that she is canceling appearances in Paris and Berlin to be able to attend his funeral.

On Sunday, December 2, the former First Lady took it to her Twitter account to explain why she had to make the decision. "It's important to me to join the Bush family in celebrating President George H. W. Bush's exemplary life," she wrote. "This will unfortunately preclude my visits to Paris and Berlin. I've been deeply touched by the enthusiasm for my memoir, and I'm working to reschedule my trip for next year."

The 54-year-old went on, in a follow-up tweet, to request for fans' understanding. "I hope readers and ticket holders will understand my decision regarding my desire to attend President Bush's funeral," she noted, "and join me in paying tribute to him and his tremendous contributions to our world."

One day prior, the author of "Becoming" paid tribute to the husband of late Barbara Bush by uploading a photo of him giving her a kiss on the cheek in the Oval Office. "As a public servant, father, and grandfather, President George H. W. Bush was an extraordinary example for us all," she wrote in companion of the sweet snap. "His spirit of service and decency will be missed by many, including our family. I hope his memory will be a guiding light for our country and those around the world."

Former president George H. W. Bush passed away at age 94 on Friday, November 30. His passing came just seven months after Barbara’s, who died on April 17. Details of his funeral arrangements have since been released. He will be laid to rest on Thursday, December 6, at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum at Texas A&M University, following a memorial service at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Houston.

In another news, Michelle has shocked many with a very public swear words. The mother of two made the slip when talking about the inequality for women in workplace and marriage while promoting her new book in Brooklyn on Saturday, December 1. "And it's not always enough to lean in, because that s**t doesn't work all the time," she said before quickly apologizing, "I forgot where I was for a moment."

One member of the audience took to Twitter to share her thought, "Anyway I got to hear Michelle Obama accidentally say 's**t' and dance tonight in front of 1000's of people and it truly made my life. She's a real one. So funny. So raw. So real. SO INSPIRING!" Meanwhile, another user noted, "Despite waiting in the rain for an hour to get into the Barclays Center, I was just in the same room as @MichelleObama and she accidentally said 's**t' and it was amazing and my life has been forever changed."

Others, on the other hand, praised Michelle for publicly disagreeing with Facebook CEO Sheryl Sandberg's 'lean in' term. "Thank you for saying this, #MichelleObama," one user wrote. "I have always disliked the 'lean in' phrase. As MO says, that s**t don’t always work!" Another applauded her by tweeting, "Michelle has spoken. Sheryl Sandberg can shove it with her 'lean in' BS. #teammichelle #beensayingthisforyears."
