AceShowbiz - Linda Cardellini felt destined to play Dolores Vallelongas in new movie "Green Book" after learning she shared the same birthday as her real-life character.

The "Daddy's Home" star studied up on her screen persona before filming began and spent time with Dolores' family, seeking out information about the wife of Viggo Mortensen's character, Tony Lip.

"I got to talk to a lot of the Vallelongas, who are in the film - they play their older relatives...," she revealed on "The Late Late Show with James Corden". "The family was really forthcoming, they were very honest, but Dolores was really well loved."

"I met with Nick, who's her son, and we were talking about her and I said, 'I really feel like I know what kind of person she was', and I was figuring out things... I said, 'When was she born, what's her birthday?' and he said, 'She was born on June 25th', and that's my birthday!"

To complete her character's look in the film, Dolores' son gifted Linda his late mother's jewellery.

"I wear her real charm bracelet, I wear her real ring," she smiled. "They (family) were so generous with everything. There's a charm on her bracelet that was, like, '6/25'."
