And now that Christmas is coming closer, people have been wondering whether or not the retired baseball player will finally pop the question to his singer/actress girlfriend.

Speaking to PEOPLE, Alex opens up about the gifts that he wants to give to Jenny for their second Christmas together. Will it be an engagement ring? Even though he refuses to get into details about his upcoming gift, he does hint that it will highlight their memorable moments rather than an expensive gift.

"It has to be something creative. I can't just go out and buy something expensive," he tells the publication. "For Jennifer, something that's handwritten, maybe a photo. I don't want to give any secrets away for this holiday, but it's something that is heartfelt, something that resembles a memory that we've had together that involves our children, that involves our home because, ultimately, that's what it's all about."

Judging by his answer, it appears the gift won't be an engagement ring, after all. Despite that, his gift might be something that is worth anticipating to. Can't wait!

Alex and Jenny have been inseparable ever since they confirmed their romance in March last year. However, even though they are still very loved up right now, Alex previously revealed how he still couldn't help but fear his luck could run out with the former "Shades of Blue" star.

When he stopped by "Good Morning Britain" on Tuesday, November 20, host Piers Morgan gushed about how utterly beautiful his lady is. "Do you ever see Jennifer Lopez next to you and think how the hell did I get this luck," the English journalist asked, to whom Alex jokingly replied, "I just hope she doesn't wake up and say, 'OK, your time is up. Get out!' "
