The frontman of Maroon 5 finally breaks his silence on rumors of the band headlining the annual football game's halftime show during his appearance on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show'.

AceShowbiz - It's been months since rumors of Maroon 5 headlining the upcoming Super Bowl LIII halftime show started spreading on the internet. Adam Levine finally breaks his silence on the long-running rumor during his appearance in the upcoming episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Friday, November 16.
When asked about the rumor, the band's frontman sarcastically replies, "What the hell are you talking about?" He adds, "It's a rumor. I can neither confirm or deny the truth of this rumor. It's definitely a rumor. And the rumor seems to be a rumor that everyone seems to be discussing."
Adam further insists that he knows nothing about it, noting that anyone who gets the change to headline the annual football game's halftime will do well. "Whoever is lucky enough to get that gig probably is gonna crush it... Whoever does it is probably equal parts nervous and excited," he says, before making sure to the audience that he's not talking about his band. "This is all speculative because I don't know who I'm talking about."
"If it were me, I'd be excited. I'd be nervous," the "She Will Be Loved" singer goes on saying. "If I were doing it, which I can't confirm or deny I am, I would be excited."
Rumors of Maroon 5 headlining Super Bowl halftime show first sparked in late September after Rihanna reportedly declined the offer in order to show support for Colin Kaepernick. Since then, a petition has been created calling for the seven-piece band to drop out of the halftime show to stand in solidarity with the controversial football star.
"Until the league changes their policy and support players' constitutional right to protest, no artists should agree to work with the NFL. Join me in asking Maroon 5 to drop out of the 209 Super Bowl halftime," so the message reads. "The band has a chance to stand on the right side of history. If they don't, they will be remembered for choosing to side with the NFL over its players."
The petition has now achieved more than 36,000 signatures.
