Along with Prince and The Clash, the 'Rehab' hitmaker will get an individual paving stone similar to those of Hollywood Walk of Fame along a stretch of road in Camden, north London.

AceShowbiz - Acts such as Amy Winehouse, Prince and The Clash are set to be remembered on the new Music Walk of Fame in London.

The Music Walk of Fame will stretch along the road connecting the music venues, the Roundhouse and Koko, in Camden, north London. Each musician will get an individual paving stone, like the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which can be scanned by cell phones to reveal stories behind the stars via an app.

A test stone is due to be installed in February (19) and the organisers hope to lay more than 400 of the one-metre-square granite plaques over the next two decades.

Fans and members of the music industry will be asked to help decide who should be honoured on the Music Walk of Fame, but early contenders are thought to include Winehouse, who lived and passed away in Camden in 2011, The Clash, who had a studio there, and the late Prince, who performed at the Electric Ballroom in 2014 and once opened a memorabilia shop in the neighbourhood in the 1990s.

Other expected acts include Queen, Coldplay and Madness, while it is being decided if notable non-performers such as Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren and songwriter Bernie Taupin are allowed to be included.

Music journalist Dave Henderson, who is part of the group behind the scheme, said Camden was "a hotbed of music," and added to London's Evening Standard, "There are so many stories, Eric Clapton played with Muddy Waters at Dingwalls, Frank Zappa rehearsed at the Forum and Bob Marley lived in Camden when he first came to London."
