Prior to receiving the goods, the 'Ibiza' actor told a morning talk show about the time he was led out of the network's building just for trying to take a bottle of 'employee only' water.

AceShowbiz - Richard Madden received an apologetic gift from Netflix after he had a run-in with the organisation's security over a bottle of 'employee only' water.

The Scottish actor recently revealed that he'd accidentally walked into the wrong building when he visited bosses at the streaming service, and was told he was not allowed to help himself to the water on display as it was only for staff members.

"I said, 'well I am a Netflix employee, I'm on a show.' And they're like, 'sir you have to put that water back now,'" he said on American talk show "KTLA Morning News". "Surely I can have a bottle of water? 'You have to put it back now. You have to leave now, sir.' And they held the door for me and I left the building."

However, Netflix executives have now reached out to the "Game of Thrones" star with a gift in a bid to make amends.

Posting to his Instagram Story, Richard shared that the company had delivered boxes full of Netflix branded water, accompanied by a note that read: "Our deepest apologies for the water bottle situation. Normally we give them out gladly but your fans are always so thirsty... love, Netflix."

The 32-year-old's most recent role saw him play David Budd in the hit BBC thriller "Bodyguard", which is now available to watch on Netflix. His star turn in the small screen drama means he is rumoured to be in the running to play James Bond when Daniel Craig steps down from the role.

"It's very flattering to be in the conversation for it," Richard smiled during his KTLA interview, but insisted that he had not been in touch with producer Barbara Broccoli.
