The former member of One Direction promises fans that he is trying his best to come out with the release of his second album after fans tweeted their frustration over lack of information.

AceShowbiz - Zayn Malik has accused executives at his record label of preventing him from releasing new music.

The singer released his debut studio album "Mind of Mine" in 2016, and though he has dropped several songs from his upcoming record, including the lead single "Dusk Till Dawn" featuring Sia Furler, there is still no confirmed release date for his second album.

After a number of fans took to Twitter to express their frustration over the lack of information, Zayn explained the reason behind the delay.

"I hear you guys.. I know you want a date for the album and I do too," he wrote on Sunday, November 04. "The label is holding me back but I promise I am doing everything I can to get my music to you. Thankyou.. You will hear from me soon."

The 25-year-old has been managed by bosses at RCA Records since he left One Direction to go solo in 2015, and following his admission, a number of supportive fans insisted that they understood his predicament, and urged the label to release the material.

Zayn officially revealed that a new album was in the pipeline back in June, making the announcement alongside a cover video of Beyonce Knowles's "Me, Myself and I".

"Album is on the way. Got a few surprises for you too .. here's a taster," he tweeted.

Last month, the "Pillowtalk" hitmaker shared an audio video with accompanying lyrics for another tune from the record called "Fingers", a song about wanting to text a lover but seemingly being too drunk to do so.

Zayn has also collaborated with Timbaland on a track called "Too Much".
