According to 'Charles at 70: Thoughts, Hopes and Dreams', the Duke of Sussex was 'petulant and short-tempered' with members of the Kensington Palace staff during his wedding preparation.

AceShowbiz - Prince Harry apparently was having a meltdown prior to his May 19 royal wedding to Meghan Markle. A new book from royal biographer Robert Jobson details how the Duke of Sussex's nerves almost got the best of him before the big day.

Titled "Charles at 70: Thoughts, Hopes and Dreams", the book details that the 34-year-old British prince grew impatient during the wedding preparation. Jobson writes that he was "petulant and short-tempered" with members of the Kensington Palace staff.

According to an excerpt by DailyMail, on one occasion, he would be raising his voice and said, "What Meghan wants, she gets."

During the days leading to the nuptials, it is also said that insides started to notice a pleasant change in Harry's relationship with his father Prince Charles. According to the book, the former Army helicopter pilot had begun to show him much more respect than he had previously. It might have something to do with the fact that the Prince of Wales bankrolled the wedding.

More importantly, Prince Charles took over Meghan's father Thomas Markle's role on the wedding. The Duke of Cornwall walked the now pregnant Duchess down the aisle as his father couldn't make it to the wedding due to health issue.

"Thanks, Pa," Harry allegedly whispered to his dad after he walked the former "Suits" actress down the aisle.

That made the Duchess show much respect to Prince Charles. "When Meghan met the Prince of Wales, she was bowled over by his gentlemanly charm," royal source reportedly told the biographer. "She told Prince Harry he was wonderful, welcoming, warm, hard-working, kind and stable. She made it clear that he should appreciate him and bond more."

While Harry briefly went short-tempered with palace staffers, he and his brother Prince William have always shown "appropriate deference" to their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
