The 'High School Musical' star and the 'Body Language' singer are joining the likes of Kiersey Clemons, Jordan Fisher, Mario and Keala Settle in FOX's live musical adaptation of the Broadway show.

AceShowbiz - Vanessa Hudgens and R&B singer Tinashe will star in the live musical adaptation of "Rent (2019)".
The "Grease Live" star and Tinashe will appear alongside Kiersey Clemons, "Jesus Christ Superstar Live!" star Brandon Victor Dixon, Jordan Fisher, musician Brennin Hunt, singer Mario, and "The Greatest Showman" actress Keala Settle in the production, which will be broadcast on January 27, 2019.
Michael Greif, who directed the original New York Theatre Workshop and Broadway versions of the stageshow, will oversee the live adaption, while Alex Rudzinksi will take charge of the new TV project.
"Rent" first opened on Broadway in 1996 and ran for 12 years. It centred on a group of friends navigating careers and the AIDS epidemic in 1990s New York.
The stageshow became a hit film in 2005, starring Taye Diggs, Wilson Jermaine Heredia, Jesse L. Martin, Idina Menzel, Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp - the stars of the original Broadway production.
