The leading man in 'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald' teases during an appearance on 'The Graham Norton Show' that he was given the confidential information by J.K. Rowling herself.

AceShowbiz - Jude Law was told top-secret spoilers for the new "Fantastic Beasts" movie by the author herself, J.K. Rowling.

The British star makes his debut as infamous wizard Albus Dumbledore in "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald", and he admitted that he knows information regarding the future of the wizarding franchise.

During an appearance on "The Graham Norton Show" alongside co-star Eddie Redmayne, who plays Newt Scamander in the "Fantastic Beasts" movies, Jude cheekily revealed he had been privy to some confidential information from Rowling.

"We haven't cross-referenced this yet, actually," he said. "When I was asked to play the part, the first thing I felt was my responsibility was to meet J.K. Rowling and to question her about the backstory and the life of this incredible character."

Dumbledore goes on to become headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and is a firm favourite amongst "Harry Potter" fans. However, he sadly dies in the book and movie, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince".

"Because he's hugely beloved and I felt like it was a big responsibility. So, she talked through his childhood, a lot of which we all know from the Harry Potter books up to this point," Jude, 45, explained.

"And she went a little beyond (the books) – but not hugely! Most about what she told me was about Albus, not about everyone else. I know a little bit! I'm really sticking to this 'Don't Talk About It' clause," he laughed.

While his co-star Eddie jokingly interrupted: "Don't pretend you stick to the secrecy clause. That's part of the fun of doing these films!".

"Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" opens in UK and US cinemas on November 16.
