The 'Mission: Impossible - Fallout' actor wore a bomber jacket and rode a motorcycle while filming the 'Top Gun' sequel in San Diego, California.

AceShowbiz - Tom Cruise got in action as Pete "Maverick" Mitchell in the latest set photos of "Top Gun: Maverick". The 56-year-old actor showed an updated take on his character as he's back on motorcycle during the filming in San Diego, California on Tuesday, October 9.

In some pictures obtained by Daily Mail, the action movie star looked as gorgeous as his younger self in the 1986 movie as he sported an olive-colored bomber jacket and aviator sunglasses to reprise his character's iconic look. Also donning jeans and brown boots, he rode the Kawasaki motorcycle on the set.

The "Top Gun" sequel will follow Maverick as he mentors a new generation of U.S. Navy fighter pilots. Miles Teller is tapped to portray Bradley Bradshaw, a pilot trainee, and the son of Maverick's late partner Nick "Goose" Bradshaw. Anthony Edwards played Goose in the original movie.

Val Kilmer returns as rival pilot, Tom "Iceman" Kazansky. Jon Hamm, Jennifer Connelly, Ed Harris and Lewis Pullman are also joining the cast, with Monica Barbaro playing the love interest to Teller's character. Glen Powell, who lost the role of Bradley Bradshaw to Teller, has landed a role in the upcoming movie as well, though his character is not revealed yet.

The movie was initially scheduled for released in July 2019, but it has been pushed back a year to June 26, 2020 reportedly due to "extensive visual effects work and complicated flight scenes" that require more time to be completed in post-production.

Joseph Kosinski serves as director, with Peter Craig, Justin Marks, Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz teaming up to write the script. The original movie producer Jerry Bruckheimer is producing, while Harold Faltermeyer is returning to compose the score.
