The ex-husband of Khloe Kardashian was not held hostage with his then-girlfriend and her daughter back in June, Lamar's manager and publicist say.

AceShowbiz - Lamar Odom wasn't in any kind of danger last summer. The former NBA star's team has brushed off reports that he was kidnapped over a gambling debt while visiting his then-girlfriend Savanna Waldrop in Portland back in June.

Lamar's manager Zoul El Fassi tells E! News, "The kidnapping is false, it's a lie, it's made up." The manager also denies that the former husband of Khloe Kardashian had a romantic relationship with the said woman, stating, "He does know her. He's not going to deny that but she was just a girl he used to party with."

The 38-year-old athlete's publicist Eve Sarkisyan-Nunn similarly clears up the speculation, "We are aware of the false story circulating around regarding Lamar. We are not denying that Lamar does know this woman, however she was merely an acquaintance."

Radar Online first reported the kidnapping story. According to the site, the trouble began when Lamar had Savanna borrowed $10,000 from "some shady locals" because he didn't have money to gamble. But the former Clippers player couldn't pay it back. "Within 20 minutes the $10,000 was gone. He gambled it all - and lost!" said a source.

The bookies reportedly didn't let Lamar and his alleged girlfriend get away with that as the source said, "Within 24 hours the bookies were harassing them, following them to their Airbnb and hotel, and waiting for them in the parking lot." The source went on claiming that the bookies threatened Savanna and her daughter with a gun and kicked in the hotel door when they were all in bed.

Lamar was then taken with the guys and held hostage until he paid the money back. "They kidnapped him for two days and took him to their house in Portland where he basically just hung out with them," the source said, adding that the kidnappers even took him to a nightclub.

Lamar reportedly got freed after Savanna paid the men $1,500 and the athlete's camp gave the men over $2,800. The source noted, "Lamar still owes the rest, about $5,000, not including the interest that they want. But he still hasn't paid."

The former "Khloe and Lamar" star reportedly made light of the situation and later blamed Savanna for what happened to him. The source additionally said that Lamar has a gambling addiction and that he has blown through $2 million in two years.
