The 'Whiplash' star shows off his muscly arms and facial hair as he has been filming 'Top Gun: Maverick', in which he portrays Goose's son.

AceShowbiz - While there's still no official look at Miles Teller in "Top Gun: Maverick", fans can bet that he will be looking more mature than ever in the upcoming movie. The actor has beefed up and grown his mustache for his role in the long-awaited sequel to Tom Cruise's 1986 movie.

The "Fantastic Four" actor was spotted running errand on Friday, September 28 in Los Angeles. Wearing a white tank top, he showed off his muscly arms. He carried a bag from pet store Healthy Spot as he was leaving a gym.

Teller is tapped to portray Bradley Bradshaw, a pilot trainee, and the son of Maverick's late partner Nick "Goose" Bradshaw, in the "Top Gun" sequel. Nicholas Hoult and Glen Powell were reported vying for the role, though the latter eventually landed another role in the movie.

Powell, who is a self-declared big fan of "Top Gun", jokingly tweeted after losing the role of Bradley, "I'm taking down all the Tom Cruise posters in my bedroom. Maybe, I'll leave one. Two for symmetry. Okay, the posters are staying." He later updated his Instagram followers about his casting news, writing, "This role is a dream come true. Don't ever give up. Missile Lock is Real."

Cruise reprises his role as Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, while Val Kilmer returns as rival pilot, Tom "Iceman" Kazansky. Jon Hamm, Jennifer Connelly and Ed Harris are also joining the cast, with Monica Barbaro playing the love interest to Teller's character.

"Top Gun: Maverick" will follow Maverick as he mentors a new generation of U.S. Navy fighter pilots. Production is currently underway, with Joseph Kosinski serving behind the lens. Peter Craig, Justin Marks, Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz wrote the script.

The movie is now scheduled for a June 26, 2020 release, after being pushed back from its initial July 2019 launch.
