AceShowbiz - FOX has given a straight-to-series order to an animated comedy titled "Bless the Harts". The upcoming half-hour animated comedy will feature voices provided by Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee Kristen Wiig and fellow Emmy nominee Maya Rudolph among others.

"Bless the Harts" is created and executive produced by Emily Spivey, whose credits include "The Last Man on Earth", "Parks and Recreation" and "Saturday Night Live". "Emily Spivey has the uncanny ability to observe the simplest qualities of everyday life, framing together bold characters and hilarious stories built around warmth and heart," Michael Thorn, president of entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company, said.

He added, "Having grown up in a close-knit southern family, she has a deep well of material that has inspired her to create this show, with a phenomenal cast, headlined by Kristen, Maya, Jillian and Ike. As home to television’s most iconic animated families -- The Simpsons, Griffins and Belchers -- we're thrilled to welcome the Harts to FOX."

"Bless the Harts" centers on a group of Southerners who are always broke as a joke, and struggling for the American dream of status and wealth. What they don't realize is that they’re already rich, in friends, family and laughter. The new series will be having 13 episodes with a 2019-2020 season premiere date.

In addition to Spivey, Chris Miller and Phil Lord will serve as executive producers. Wiig also joins them as executive producer alongside Seth Cohen.

Also starring Jillian Bell and Ike Barinholtz, "Bless the Harts" marks Miller and Lord's reunion with Spivey as they recently worked as a writer and a co-executive producer on "The Last Man on Earth". It also brings Spivey and Wiig together after "Saturday Night Live", while Spivey and Rudolph previously worked together on the latter's NBC variety show "Maya & Marty".
