Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie Strode tries to convince a journalist that the 'legend' is real and that Michael is a boogeyman.

AceShowbiz - In case you have no idea how cruel Michael Myers is, this new trailer of "Halloween (2018)" will change your mind. The newly-released sneak peek opens with a news-report style, detailing his history of murder spree that began in 1978.

Forty years later, the serial killer escapes from prison. Jamie Lee Curtis' Laurie Strode is seen being interviewed by a journalist, who is curious about Michael's motive. "You don't believe he's a boogeyman?" Laurie asks the journalist, who replies, "No." She says again, "You should."

And so the terror begins, but this time Laurie is more than ready to face her adversary. "He is a killer, but he will be killed tonight," Laurie declares, as the trailer promises that the "evil will be unmasked."

Jamie's character was killed in 2012's "Halloween: Resurrection", but the new movie opts to ignore the storyline in the previous movies of the franchise. The upcoming film also changes the franchise mythology which has long depicted Michael Myers as Laurie's brother.

The official logline reads, "Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago."

"For a lot of people, out of sight, out of mind," Curtis said when EW visited the movie set earlier this year. "For her, out of sight, out of her mind. Michael Myers is her sole focus. Because she [knows], the same way Loomis knew, that Michael Myers is a threat - and no one else seems to take him so."

Nick Castle reprises his role as the masked killer, with Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, Virginia Gardner and Nick Castle also joining the cast. David Gordon Green directed the movie, while Danny McBride co-wrote the script with Jeff Fradley and Green. The slasher film is slated to arrive in the U.S. on October 19, just in time for Halloween.
