However, the mother of three allegedly will travel back and forth often and is 'open to having a second home base' there.

AceShowbiz - Kanye West is currently planning his permanent move to his hometown of Chicago, but Kim Kardashian won't be joining him. Multiple reports suggest that the makeup maven will only spend time there and support her rapper husband without moving full-time.

Part of the reason why she won't move with Kanye are allegedly her business and children. "She thinks it's best for the kids to continue their schedule in L.A. North is in school and everything is working great," a source tells PEOPLE. "Kim doesn't think a permanent move to Chicago benefits the kids. Also, Kim wants to be around her family as much as possible too. She loves their new house and it finally feels like a home to her."

A second source shares to E! News that Kanye's habit to change his mind quickly is also among the reason why she isn't going to move to Chicago. However, the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star is "open to having a second home base there" as she feels her whole life is in Los Angeles.

"She isn't ready to make drastic changes and move across the country," the insider says. "The plan is to travel there back and forth often, but not be permanent residents. Kanye is planning on spending more time in Chicago than Kim. This has been a long time coming for Kanye, and Kim is trying to be compromise and be a good partner. They have just started the process of looking into buying something."

Kanye announced that he would be moving permanently to Chicago when he made an appearance at Chance the Rapper's OpenMike event on Monday, September 17. "I've got to let you all know, that I'm moving back to Chicago," he said, "and I'm never leaving again." The rapper also said that he would be teaching at the Art Institute of Chicago and the American Academy of Art, but a spokesperson for SAIC has since denied that.
