AceShowbiz - Just last year, Lindsay Shookus attended the Emmys with then-boyfriend Ben Affleck. Now that the pair had ended their romantic relationship, the actor, who is currently in rehab for his alcohol addiction, was nowhere to be seen with the "Saturday Night Live" producer at the 2018 Emmys, which took place on Monday, September 17.
However, it didn't mean that the award-giving event was less enjoyable for Shookus as she gushed over her "best dates" on her Instagram account. The 38-year-old TV producer, who looked stunning in a black plunging dress, flashed her biggest smile as she posed with her gal pals as she flaunted her trophy after winning Outstanding Variety Sketch Series for the NBC long-running series.
"Best dates in the world," Shookus captioned the snap.
Monday's Emmys marked Shookus' first public appearance since splitting from the "Gone Girl" actor earlier this summer following a year of dating. Previous reports suggested that the split was what caused Ben started drinking again that eventually led the 46-year-old actor re-entered rehab for his ongoing battle with alcoholism last month.
However, another source claimed that "Lindsay was encouraging him to stop" drinking. "At that point, he still didn't seem to feel he had a real problem. Sadly, he spiraled very quickly, and Lindsay felt helpless," the source claimed.
The source continued, "Lindsay wanted Ben to go to rehab, but had trouble getting him there. He didn't want to be controlled and ended things with Lindsay."
Rumors of their breakup started emerging after Ben was spotted hanging out with Playboy model Shauna Sexton on multiple occasions. "Lindsay was supporting Ben in the beginning, but now he seems to be relying more on Shauna than Lindsay and she is devastated," the source revealed about Shookus' stand on Ben going back to the rehab. "She believed he would get sober and they would work it out, but that isn't how things seem to be panning out."
