The fans were quick to let out their anger on social media after they found out that the event only listed Aretha Franklin, Burt Reynolds and Anthony Bourdain on the memorial segment.

AceShowbiz - Fans were left furious when Mac Miller was left out of the In Memoriam segment at the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday night, September 17.

Miller, real name Malcolm McCormick, was found dead after suffering an apparent overdose on September 7. The Television Academy traditionally remembers stars from the entertainment industry who have died over the past 12 months in their In Memoriam piece, with those featured including Aretha Franklin, Burt Reynolds and Anthony Bourdain.

However, Miller was noticeably missing from the piece, which was accompanied by Franklin's haunting rendition of "Amazing Grace", with his the rapper's fans quick to take to social media to vent their anger.

"Y'all forgot to pay respects to Mac Miller in the memoriam," one wrote, while another tweeted, "#Emmys Mac Miller wasn't worth mentioning? Wow. Hollywood is trash."

Another fan commented that Miller's absence from the piece was more than a little surprising considering he also appeared in his own reality show on MTV2, "Mac Miller and the Most Dope Family", from 2013 to 2014.

"Honestly it's shady they didn't put Mac Miller in the In Memoriam part of the Emmys," they wrote. "Like he had his own show smh (shake my head)."

Miller's death has left his peers reeling, with ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande struggling to come to terms with his passing. While the "No Tears Left to Cry" singer had been expected to attend the Emmy Awards alongside fiance Pete Davidson, a representative for the singer revealed she had decided to give it a miss.

"Contrary to reports, Ariana will not be attending the Emmys tonight," her representative told PEOPLE. "Pete has also opted to not attend to be with her in New York.

"Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much needed time to heal and mend. She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without deadline. She thanks her fans for their understanding."
