AceShowbiz - The Aces of "Star Wars Resistance" are being introduced in a new featurette for the latest entry in the animated series of the universe. Consisting of Torra Doza, Hype Fazon, Griff Halloran, Freya Fenris and Bo Keevil, The Aces are a group of pilots among the best in the galaxy, according to creator Dave Filoni.

Executive producer Justin Ridge adds that the pilots all look visually distinct. Voiced by Myrna Velasco, Torrra is the youngest pilot with a bubbly personality. "Torra Doza, who is the daughter of the captain Doza, is a very gifted pilot," says Ridge of the character. "She loves her friends and family, which is like a deep dedication," Velasco adds.

Of her relationship with Kazuda Xiono (voiced by Christopher Sean), Velasco shares that they are just "two kids trying to figure out the world." She hopes fans can really see their friendship.

The next character to be introduced is Hype. "Hype is the best pilot on the platform. He's a little cocky, he's a little full of himself," Donald Faison shares of his character. "But then you will start to see that he actually cares about his fellow racers, because they all play a part in what's gonna happen in the future."

As for Griff, he is depicted as "cranky old man." Voice actor Stephen Stanton describes Griff as someone who is "a little rough around the edges, not someone that you wanna cross," adding that he is "still looking for that one last, great battle."

Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, meanwhile, lends her voice for Freya. She has an icy, cold exterior and is also competitive and hyper-logical, but she is "probably the one you can trust the most." Rounding out The Aces is Bo Keevil. Art director Amy Beth Christenson notes that this mysterious character's ship has four wings and he is known for crashing a lot.

"Star Wars Resitance" is dubbed to allow fans to an opportunity to "explore this point of time of something that no one's seen before." Faison adds, "It's about pilots, racing, espionage -- it's like everything you ever wanted in a 'Star Wars' television show."

Set before the events in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", "Star Wars Resistance" centers on Kaz, a young pilot recruited by the Resistance for a top-secret mission to spy on the growing threat of the First Order. Poe and his droid BB-8 assign him to the Colossus, a massive aircraft re-fueling platform on an outer-rim water planet that’s home to colorful new aliens, droids and creatures.

Also lending their voices on "Star Wars Resistance" are Gwendoline Christie, Jim Rash, Bobby Moynihan and Rachel Butera.

"Star Wars Resistance" is slated to premiere on October 7 at 10 P.M. on Disney Channel, DisneyNOW, and Disney VOD.
