The 26-year-old beauty launched the Selena Gomez Fund for Lupus Research last year with the help of USC's Keck School of Medicine.

AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez has landed a $100,000 (£75,000) donation for her lupus research foundation from bosses at streetwear brand PUMA.

The actress and singer is celebrating her one-year anniversary as an ambassador for the fashion company, after signing up as a spokeswoman last year (17), with the upcoming release of the PUMA Defy x SG sneaker and accompanying activewear collection.

Teasing the new shoe on Wednesday with sneak peek images of the Defy ad campaign, which feature the "Come & Get It" hitmaker sporting the grey and white trainer against a low-key grey background, the star revealed the generous gift she received from PUMA bosses.

"To see the final product of something that you've worked on is a surreal feeling," she told Teen Vogue. "I'm so happy that people will be able to wear something I've designed. I hope everyone will love it as much as I do.

"PUMA has decided to commemorate this launch and our one year anniversary by donating to a fund I started to support Lupus Research, which I am so grateful."

The 26-year-old beauty launched the Selena Gomez Fund for Lupus Research last year (17) with the help of administrators from University of Southern California's (USC) Keck School of Medicine shortly after she underwent a kidney transplant to treat her own diagnosis with the inflammatory autoimmune disease.

Selena, who describes her new shoe design as "daring, brave, unapologetic, and unafraid to defy standards", will release the PUMA x SG Defy collection next week, September 18. She has also fronted campaigns for the brand's Amp XT and Phenom Lux sneaker designs this year.
