AceShowbiz - More updates on the upcoming prequel TV series of "Game of Thrones" starts emerging online. While HBO hasn't revealed the official title of the show, it is rumored that the new series will be named "The Long Night". A new report suggests that "The Long Night" pilot is slated to start production as early as February next year.

They will be filming at Paint Hall/Titanic Studios in Belfast, Northern Ireland, according to GWW. The new report falls in line with what HBO programming president Casey Bloys said during the Television Critics Association tour this past July. He revealed that the series, written by Jane Goldman, would begin by "early 2019."

Ordered to a pilot by HBO in June, the prequel series be set thousands of years before the events of "Game of Thrones" as it will chronicle the world's descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: From the horrifying secrets of Westeros' history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East, to the Starks of legend… it's not the story we think we know.

It is expected to offer fans an insight into the beginning of the Long Night, a winter that lasted generation. In addition, it is assumed that it will feature the greatest war against the white walkers. According to George R.R. Martin's books, the Age of Heroes began a ten thousand years before the events on the hit series.

In addition to writing the script alongside Martin, Goldman is serving as showrunner.

Goldman's prequel pilot is one of five different spin-off series ideas being developed on the network. Martin previously confirmed in a blog post that one other prequel concepts had been rejected. However, he assured that the other three remain in active development. The three prequels, he added, were "set in different periods and featuring different characters and storylines."
