The newborn baby joins the 'Homeland' star and the 'Hannibal' alum's five-year-old son Cyrus.

AceShowbiz - Claire Danes is now a mum-of-two after welcoming a new baby on Monday, August 27.

The "Homeland" star gave birth to her second child with her actor husband Hugh Dancy in New York, the couple's publicist tells The Associated Press.

Further details regarding the sex and name of the baby have yet to be revealed.

Claire and Hugh, who have been married since 2009, are also parents to five-year-old son Cyrus.

Claire, 39, previously revealed her firstborn had mixed emotions over welcoming a sibling.

"He's mostly enthusiastic about it," she told breakfast show "Today" in June. "There was a little wobble a couple months ago, where he was saying, 'You're gonna love the baby more than you love me,' and then I was gonna love everybody more than I love him! Anybody who walked through the door, (he'd say), 'You love that person more than you love me!'"

"But he's come around," Claire continued. "We've moved through that and he keeps kissing my stomach... It's very sweet, but I'm sure it'll go back and forth... feelings of excitement, and dread, and resentment."

The actress also admitted she had to keep her pregnancy under wraps while filming scenes for her hit spy drama "Homeland", revealing she felt "rotten" during production and often nodded off to sleep on set.

"You just feel horrible. You just feel rotten and you're not allowed to say why," she explained on America's "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon", shortly after announcing her pregnancy in April. "I was filming quite a lot but just inadvertently falling asleep all the time. It was embarrassing."

The Emmy winner will return to wrap filming on Homeland's eighth and final season early next year.
