AceShowbiz - Ahead of Aretha Franklin's funeral which will be held on Friday morning, August 31, more than 40 stars will honor her life and legacy with musical tributes on Thursday night, August 30. Titled "A People's Tribute to the Queen", the tribute concert will take place at Chene Park Amphitheater in Detroit, Michigan.

Among the stars who will take the stage at the show are Johnny Gill, Tyler Perry, Angie Stone, Keith Washington and The Four Tops. The latter will perform "Bernadette", "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)" and "Reach Out, I'll Be There".

Meanwhile, Gill is set to belt out hits like "Ain't No Way" and "How I Got Over". Perry, on the other hand, won't be showcasing his singing skill at the concert, but he will introduce Jennifer Lewis who will perform an original piece for Franklin. All performers will later join forces to perform "Respect" together at the end of the concert.

Gladys Knight was initially set to perform too, but her rep later confirmed that the veteran singer would only be in attendance.

A day before the concert, Gill revealed to Entertainment Tonight that he immediately accepted once he received invitation to participate at the show. "I had some other things on the schedule, but when I got the call from the family it was an honor," he said. "We're going to really celebrate. She's truly one of a kind, and she's worthy of it, so we're just going to celebrate the life and the music. I gotta pay my respects to the Queen!"

Franklin passed away on August 16 from pancreatic cancer. Her funeral is set to take place at the Greater Grace Temple in Detroit, Michigan on August 31 with stars like Jennifer Hudson, Ariana Grande and Stevie Wonder performing at the service. Hudson will belt out "Amazing Grace", while Grande is expected to perform "Natural Woman".
