The New York City Medical Examiner's Office confirms an autopsy was not performed on Dennis Shields' body due to objections from his family on religious grounds.

AceShowbiz - The cause of death of reality TV star Bethenny Frankel's late boyfriend Dennis Shields has been ruled as "undetermined".
The New York City Medical Examiner's Office confirmed to Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday, August 29 that Shields' cause and manner of death will never be confirmed due to objections from his family on religious grounds.
"An OCME (Office of the Chief Medical Examiner) autopsy was not performed in this case due to a religious objection, upheld by law in such instances where no criminality is suspected," chief medical examiner Barbara Sampson said in a statement.
Shields, who had an on/off relationship with the Real Housewives of New York City star from 2016, was found dead in his New York City apartment on 10 August after suffering a suspected drug overdose. He was 51.
