AceShowbiz - Harvey Weinstein is seeking to dismiss a defamation lawsuit Ashley Judd filed against him earlier this year, insisting there's no evidence to suggest he blacklisted her.

The "Double Jeopardy" star took legal action against the producer in April, accusing him of blacklisting her and sabotaging her career after she refused his sexual advances.

In her suit, she referred to comments made by "Lord of the Rings" director Peter Jackson late last year, when he confessed to dropping Judd from casting consideration for his 2001 blockbuster based on remarks Weinstein had allegedly made about her lack of professionalism.

Weinstein vehemently denied jeopardising Judd's career in May and now he is asking a judge to throw out the lawsuit because he claims neither Judd nor Jackson have any evidence to back up their accusations.

According to TMZ, Weinstein argues the lawsuit is based on speculation and claims Judd didn't follow up to find out why she was passed over for a part in the first "Lord of the Rings" film.

Meanwhile, Harvey is also seeking a halt to the sex trafficking lawsuit British actress Kadian Noble filed against him last year, accusing the movie mogul of sexually assaulting her at a hotel in Cannes, France as he held her down.

In January, Weinstein asked a judge to dismiss the lawsuit, but earlier this month his motion was denied when Manhattan Federal Court Judge Robert Sweet ruled the civil case could continue.

According to the New York Post's Page Six, Weinstein is now trying to put the legal war on hold while he appeals the decision.

The producer, who is already facing multiple sex assault charges in New York and Los Angeles, has denied all allegations of non-consensual sex.
