The visuals for the song racks up over 56 million views on the video-sharing platform within its first day of release.

AceShowbiz - It hasn't even been a week since BTS a.k.a. Bangtan Boys released their much-anticipated "IDOL" music video, but they already broke a record thanks to it. The South Korean boyband surpassed Taylor Swift for the most-viewed video within 24 hours on YouTube.

The music video for "IDOL" racked up over 56 million views on the video-sharing platform within its first day of release. The record was previously held by the pop superstar's "Look What You Made Me Do" music video, which garnered 43 million views in a day. Additionally, the record is a personal best for the group as their previous music video, "Fake Love", racked up 35 million views within 24 hours.

"IDOL" music video was unearthed on Friday, August 24, the same day BTS released their highly-anticipated album "Love Yourself: Answer". An alternate version of the song was also released on that day and featured Nicki Minaj. The "Bang Bang" femcee lent her voice for the second verse of the track.

BTS talked about how their unlikely collaboration came to be during a press conference for the album on Sunday, August 26. "We thought the song would come alive with Nicki Minaj's rapping, so we sent a request. Nicki Minaj's side accepted, so it came to be," leader RM (Rap Monster) said. "Nicki Minaj is also actively promoting the song on social media. We are thankful that she is promoting it a lot."

"Love Yourself: Answer" is the third installment of the seven-piece group's "Love Yourself" series, following "Her" and "Tear". BTS is currently hitting the road in support of the album, kicking off the trek on August 25 in Seoul. During the world tour, the group will perform at the City Field in New York City on October 6, becoming the first Korean act to play a stadium show in the U.S.
