AceShowbiz - Pop star Ellie Goulding has shared her appreciation for the flood of congratulatory messages she has received following the news of her engagement.

The Love Me like You Do hitmaker announced her plans to wed art dealer Caspar Jopling in a newspaper notice in Tuesday's, August 07 edition of Britain's The Times, and on Wednesday, her new fiance took to Instagram to gush about the singer.

"I get to spend the rest of my life with this truly extraordinary and beautiful, beautiful person," he wrote beside a candid snap of his bride-to-be. "No one has ever made me feel more full of life, knowledge, happiness, or love. Hope, passion, confidence, and more love. There is no one I have ever been more complete with and there is no one I will ever feel more complete with.

"I look forward to a lifetime of exploring the world together, crying with laughter at stupid jokes, chatting into the early hours of the morning about art, music, the world, and the future. I love you Elena (Goulding's first name)".

Clearly touched by the sweet tribute, the British musician commented, "I love you," and followed it up with her own romantic Instagram post on Thursday.

Alongside a black-and-white photo of herself planting a big kiss on her man's cheek, Ellie admitted she has purposefully avoided sharing too much about their relationship on social media, but she wanted to express her gratitude to her followers for inundating the couple with well wishes.

"I tend to keep my life very private these days and I have enjoyed the time I've had away from all the madness," she told fans. "But we've had so many beautiful messages of support and love the past few days, as have our families, that we wanted to say thank you so much! We appreciate it more than you could ever know".

She then added a note directly addressed to Caspar, declaring, "You're the most wonderful person I've ever known, and I can't wait to be your very giggly, in awe and loved up wife".

The couple has been dating for about 18 months, and Ellie recently relocated from London to New York to move in with Caspar, the nephew of art dealer Jay Jopling.

The marriage will be the first for the 31-year-old singer, whose famous ex-boyfriends include McFly bassist Dougie Poynter, actor Jeremy Irvine, and DJ Skrillex.
