The producers and Marshall's family pay tribute to the late directo by placing a plaque in his old theatre seat.

AceShowbiz - Julia Roberts hit Broadway on Thursday night, August 02 to check out the Pretty Woman stage tribute to the film's late director, Garry Marshall.

The producers and Marshall's family feted the late filmmaker, who directed the 1990 movie starring Roberts and Richard Gere, after the show by placing a plaque in his old theatre seat.

"28 years ago, the world fell in love with the brilliant #JuliaRoberts," a message on the Broadway show's Twitter page read. "Tonight, alongside Barbara Marshall, she honors the legacy of #GarryMarshall - the director who impacted so many with his warmth and vision!".

After the show, Roberts posed for pictures with Marshall's wife Barbara, son Scott, daughter Kathleen, and Pretty Woman: The Musical stars Samantha Barks and Andy Karl.

"Ok so.... Julia Roberts came to watch us in @PrettyWoman tonight...and life will never be the same again!!!," Les Miserables actress Barks wrote.

The stageshow officially opens later this month.
