The mother and daughter duo teases their collaboration in a song that's titled 'Dear Father'.

AceShowbiz - Actress and rocker Jada Pinkett Smith is joining forces with her daughter Willow Smith for a musical collaboration.

The Girls Trip star, who also fronts heavy metal band Wicked Wisdom, reveals she and 17-year-old Willow Smith have been in the recording studio laying down vocals for a special duet, which they hope will be the first of a series of songs between mother and daughter.

"I actually have a song with Willow that we did together," she tells Billboard.com. "It's called 'Dear Father' and we are still working on it. But it's pretty dope".

It's not clear if the joint project will be released under the Wicked Wisdom name, but Jada explains it has been a real thrill for the young Whip My Hair hitmaker, because she has been eyeing a collaboration with her mum for years.

"Willow has always wanted to do some stuff with me," the 46-year-old shares. "She grew up with Wicked Wisdom on tour so it's always been her dream to play with the band and play with me on stage. It's really fun. So we're thinking about doing four songs or something".

The ladies aren't the only musicians in the Smith family - Jada's husband Will Smith has been working on his rap comeback and recently helped to close the 2018 World Cup in Russia by teaming up with reggaeton star Nicky Jam and Kosovar singer Era Istrefi to perform their official anthem, One Life to Live, Live it Up.

The Hollywood power couple's son Jaden, 20, is also a talented artist, and released his latest material as an EP, titled, Syre: The Electric Album, in mid-July.
