AceShowbiz - Tommy Pickles, Chuckie Finster, Phil and Lil DeVille, Angelica Pickles and others from "Rugrats" are back! The beloved animated TV show from the '90s is getting a reboot treatment from Nickelodeon. The network has given the show a 26-episode series order, much to fans' delightment.

" 'Rugrats' is hands-down one of the most celebrated cartoons in TV history, and we are thrilled for a whole new audience to meet these iconic characters in brand-new adventures," said Sarah Levy, COO, Viacom Media Networks; and Interim President, Nickelodeon. "What was true in 1991 when the original show premiered is still true today: kids are fascinated with the world of babies. We can't wait for today's kids to meet Tommy, Chuckie and pals."

The show's original creators, including Arlene Klasky, Gabor Csupo, and Paul Germain, will return in new capacity, serving as executive producers. The revival will also feature the return of the original characters, including Reptar, alongside a new group of new characters.

"Rugrats" is the latest '90s TV series to be revived by Nickelodeon. The network previously announced the reboot of "Blue's Clues", "Rocko's Modern Live" and "Invader Zim".

Fans of "Rugrats" will not only get the TV reboot, but also a live-action movie about their favorite characters. Written by David Goodman, the upcoming film feature hails from Paramount Pictures. According to the studio, the new movie will feature CGI characters.

"Kids who grew up with Tommy Pickles and the 'Rugrats' crew will now be able to share that experience with their own children," Brian Robbins, President of Paramount Players, said in a statement.

The live-action movie is set to be released on November 13, 2020 in the United States. It marks the fourth movie in the franchise.
