The athlete confirms his relationship with the former Miss South Africa in an interview, claiming, 'She is a really special girl and I am very lucky.'

AceShowbiz - Tim Tebow, who switched from football to baseball, opened up about his relationship with Miss Universe 2017 winner Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters in an interview with Pedro Gomez on ESPN. After being secretive about it, the former NFL quarterback decided to share the happy news by praising his girlfriend and stating that he's lucky to have her in his life.
"She is a really special girl and I am very lucky and blessed for her coming into my life," he said. "I am usually very private with these things but I am very thankful."
It's unknown how long the lovebirds have been together but before the confirmation, fans had already speculated upon Tim and Demi's relationship. Tim's sister Katie Tebow took to Instagram last week to post a picture of herself, the athlete and the South African model hanging out in a green field together. "Fun hanging on the set of the heisman shoot! @timtebow @robbytebow @demileighnp," she captioned it.
After that, some fans of Tim commented on the photo. "Tim need a GF, Handsome Gorgeous Brother," a fan said. "That's his GF I think," one responded to the previous comment. "If he's dating Miss Universe = legit heartbroken foreverrrrr," one individual wrote.
Demi was born in South Africa but now lives in New York. She had a bachelor's degree in business management from North-West University in South Africa.
The Mets outfielder, who recently participated in the Double-A All-Star game, previously dated another Miss Universe winner, Olivia Culpo. "She is very open to getting to know Tim and exploring the chance of something more with him. She is really attracted to Tim's personality. They are having a great time with each other and are looking to spend more time once the football season slows down. Olivia is excited whats developing as they get to know each other more," a source revealed.
Unfortunately, the two reportedly broke up in late 2015 after just a few months of dating.
