The Canadian actress thinks it was 'really silly' because 'I should have gone to the hospital sooner.'

AceShowbiz - Actress Neve Campbell was in labour for nine days with her son Caspian.

The "Scream" star was questioned about the inspiration behind her six-year-old son's name during an appearance on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Tuesday night (July 10), and she revealed that she had endured a tough labour before she and actor boyfriend JJ Feild welcomed Caspian into the world.

"When we were pregnant we didn't find out whether he was a girl or boy - even though I knew he was a boy, I just knew, it was an instinct - so we thought we'll bring five boy names and five girl names to the hospital. We weren't gonna be at the hospital, we were gonna do it at home and it didn't work out, we ended up at the hospital," she recalled. "I was in labour for nine days. I know, I should have gone to the hospital sooner, it was really silly. Anyway, got to the hospital and then, after the nine days, we'd forgotten the list and it was the only name we could remember."

Host Stephen then asked if she was inspired by the fictional C.S. Lewis character Prince Caspian, to which Neve responded that she just really loved the name and wanted something unique, like hers, which is a "nice conversation starter".

In June, the "Party of Five" star announced on Instagram that she and JJ had secretly adopted a boy named Raynor earlier in the year.

Neve is currently promoting "Skyscraper", her first leading role in more than 10 years, and she also explained to Stephen that she was out of the spotlight for so long because she "needed a minute" to catch her breath following the success she found in her 20s.

"It got to a level also where the kinds of things that I was being offered were not the kinds of things I want to do," the 44-year-old explained. "I just wasn't interested in the scripts and I was feeling a bit unhappy with the things that were coming to me. And I was feeling a little bored with the whole thing. I thought, 'I want a change.' So, I moved to London."
