AceShowbiz - John Malkovich is to join Jude Law in the follow-up to critically-acclaimed TV series "The Young Pope".

Law will return as conflicted and irreverent pontiff Lenny Belardo in "The New Pope", which will begin production in Italy in November.

Details about Malkovich's role are being kept under wraps by co-writer and director Paolo Sorrentino.

"The Young Pope" debuted on Sky in Europe in October, 2016 and in the U.S. in January, 2017. The series aired in 150 territories, according to Deadline.
