AceShowbiz - Fans seemingly get more information about Jeremy Irons' involvement on HBO's "Watchmen". A new report about the upcoming series details a character, which is assumed to be played by Oscar-winning actor.
According to That Hashtag Show, Jeremy will take on the role of someone referred as "The Blonde Man." His character is described as the "aging and imperious lord of a British manor." The description adds that "The Blonde Man" is "highly intelligent and won't let you forget it."
"Think William Hurt with slight Asperger's. He’s used to being obeyed and always correct. Arrogant, erudite and patrician. Physically fit, he’s never missed a workout in his life," the description adds.
Fans notice that several key descriptors in the breakdown sound like aged Adrian Veidt a.k.a. Ozymandias, the primary antagonist of the original Watchmen comics by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. However, it's worth to note that Ozymandias is, in fact, a German-American heritage, not British.
Along with the character description, the site reports that a pair of actors will join the series in the roles of Mrs. Crookshanks and Bernard. Mrs. Crookshanks is the head servant, while Bernard is the butler of the British manor looked over by The Blonde Man. It is highly assumed that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Sara Vickers are set to play the characters.
Also starring on the upcoming series are Don Johnson as "Judd Crawford", Louis Gossett Jr. as "Old Man", and Regina King as "Angela Abraham". Meanwhile, Tim Blake Nelson, Adelaide Clemons and Andrew Howard are cast in unidentified roles.
Executive producer Damon Lindelof previously explained that the TV series would not be a sequel to the live-action movie "Watchmen" (2009). He has written the screenplay for the pilot, which Nicole Kassell will direct.
