AceShowbiz - There aren't many Australian acts that can make it big in American music industry, but 5 Seconds of Summer is certainly not one of them. The pop rock band has recently made history when their latest album "Youngblood" topped Billboard 200 chart.

"Youngblood" debuted atop the chart after racking up 142,000 equivalent album units, beating out power couple Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z's joint album "Everything Is Love". Furthermore, the achievement made them become the first Australian act to have three No. 1 albums in the U.S. and the first band to have their first three full-length studio albums debut atop the chart.

5 Seconds of Summer also receives a lot of loves in their native country as the made history by becoming the first local act to top both the ARIA Albums and Singles chart since Gotye did the same in 2011.

Expressing their gratefulness to fans who have been supporting them, the band treated fans to an intimate, celebratory performance at Tumblr IRL event at Brooklyn's National Sawdust space. "We just released an album a week ago and we found out yesterday it's No. 1," bassist Calum Hood told the crowd. "So to everyone who listened to the album, bought the album and contributed to this band over the last seven years of our career, I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you. We love you very much."

In support of the album, the band will embark on a tour called "Meet You There Tour" which will hit 25 cities across North America. They recently announced dates for Asia, Australia and Europe dates for the tour, making it a total of 53 dates. The trek will kick off in August 2 in Osaka, Japan and conclude on November 19 in Madrid, Spain.
