The irish writer was supposed to have one testicle removed and would likely need to undergo chemotherapy.

AceShowbiz - "Father Ted" co-creator Graham Linehan has been given the all-clear in his battle with testicular cancer.

The Irish writer shocked fans on Wednesday, June 27, when he cancelled a tour of Australia and announced that he had recently been diagnosed with the disease.

Graham told his Twitter followers that he has had one testicle removed and would likely need to undergo chemotherapy.

But in an update posted on Thursday, the 50-year-old shared that his doctor has declared him to be cancer-free.

"Well, holy s**t. I just saw my oncologist," he tweeted. "Everything's clear. No chemo! Can't believe it! NO CHEMO! Have been organising my life around the idea that the next three months were just *gone*!"

The TV scribe, who is currently developing a musical version of "Father Ted" with "The Divine Comedy" frontman Neil Hannon, thanked well-wishers and expressed frustration that he had cancelled on his Aussie fans unnecessarily.

"Thanks to everyone who sent kind words," he added. "I'm annoyed now that I worried you all unnecessarily. AND I cancelled my Australian events. Dohhhhh. Still though. CANCER-FREE I BE!"
