'I salute him and everyone else marking today's #TransDayofAction. #TDOA,' the actress gushes over her eldest child Seph.

AceShowbiz - Cynthia Nixon has shared that her eldest child is transgender in a heartfelt social media post.

The former "Sex and the City" actress, who is currently running for Governor of New York, revealed the news in a message uploaded to her Instagram page on Friday, June 22.

"I'm so proud of my son Samuel Joseph Mozes (called Seph) who graduated college this month. I salute him and everyone else marking today's #TransDayofAction. #TDOA," Cynthia captioned the photo, showing her and her son smiling following his graduation from the University of Chicago earlier this month.

Trans Day of Action (TDOA) began in 2005 and is an annual rally and march held in late June in New York City which aims to bring together transgender and gender non-conforming people and draw attention to issues impacting the community.

Seph, 21, was born Samantha Mozes. Cynthia shares Seph and a 15-year-old son named Charles Ezekiel Mozes with her ex-husband Danny Mozes.

The 52-year-old and her wife Christine Marinoni, who she married in 2012, are also parents to seven-year-old son Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni.

"In terms of sexual orientation, I don't really feel I've changed," she told The Telegraph of their relationship with Christine in 2008. "I don't feel there was a hidden part of my sexuality that I wasn't aware of. I'd been with men all my life, and I'd never fallen in love with a woman. But when I did, it didn't seem so strange. I'm just a woman in love with another woman."

Cynthia also recently hit out at her Democratic rival, current Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo, for blocking progressive legislation on LGBTQ rights.

She slammed him for failing to help pass the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act, also known as GENDA, which would explicitly make discrimination on the basis of gender identity illegal in the state of New York.
