When asked about the incident, the rapper replies, 'It's just beef between me and the rapper 6ix9ine.'

AceShowbiz - Chief Keef is convinced his rivalry with a fellow rapper is behind a shooting incident on Saturday, June 02.

Keef, real name Keith Cozart, was allegedly confronted by two would-be gunmen outside the W Hotel on Broadway in New York and the 22-year-old told the New York Post that one of the men fired a shot at him, which missed.

The gunmen fled and are still being sought by police.

"I was just scared a little bit and I didn't know what to do," Keef said. "I went upstairs for a couple (of) hours to cool off and I came back (outside). I didn’t know they were waiting for me."

The rapper said he was doing well after flying home to Los Angeles following the incident.

He also blamed the near-miss on his rivalry with 6ix9ine, real name Daniel Hernandez. "It's just beef between me and the rapper 6ix9ine," the rapper told the New York Post.

6ix9ine, aka Tekashi69, later posted a screenshot of a TMZ story about the incident on Instagram, with the caption: "No way..."
