Snowe Melinda Saxman believes she is the late singer's biological child, but she filed the paperwork later than the given time.

AceShowbiz - Officials for Prince's estate have asked a judge to dismiss a suit filed by a woman claiming to be the late singer's daughter.

Snowe Melinda Saxman filed paperwork in a Minnesota court earlier this month, insisting she's the late music icon's biological daughter. She claimed she was adopted, and never knew her real parents - but, based on her "substantial physical, temperamental and aspirational similarities to Prince", she believes it's possible she is his biological child.

She filed her claim after seeking out her roots via a genetics programme, and discovered she and Prince share a similar family tree. However, she said she didn't match with Prince directly because his DNA is not in the system.

Saxman also claimed she was never notified about the proceedings in Prince's probate case, and is demanding to be involved in all decisions regarding the late star's estate.

However, officials for the late Purple Rain icon's estate insist Saxman has missed a deadline to establish her claim by one day. According to TMZ, estate officials gave potential heirs one year from 17 May, 2017 to file, but Saxman waited until 18 May.

And they argue that even if she was Prince's biological daughter and if she had filed on time, Minnesota law does not allow adoptees to claim their biological parents' fortunes.
