AceShowbiz - Rapper Busta Rhymes has been hit with a breach of contract lawsuit over a missed concert.

Bosses at 808 Entertainment are suing the Touch It hitmaker, accusing him of backing out of a gig at the Ukrainian Cultural Center in New Jersey in April.

Company bosses reportedly paid Busta, real name Trevor Smith Jr., a total of $17,000 (GBP12,600) before the show and he promoted the concert on his social media accounts. However, according to The Blast, the rapper informed 808 Entertainment bosses he could no longer appear at the concert two weeks before the show because he had to attend court for a child support warrant.

Executives grew suspicious because they were "aware that no Federal Courts are open on weekends" - and their show was booked for a Saturday.

They then learned Smith had allegedly been promoting a different show in Arizona on the same night - and performed there instead.

The entertainment company executives claiming their reputation was harmed by Busta's actions, and they are seeking $2.1 million (GBP1.5 million) in damages.
