AceShowbiz - The Dave Matthews Band violinist Boyd Tinsley has been accused of sexual misconduct by a former protege. In a new lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, James Winn claims the musician sent him disgusting, sexually suggestive texts, and masturbated next to him while he was asleep.

Tinsley reportedly discovered Winn when he was a teenage street musician in 2007, and attempted to form a boy band around the youngster. But their relationship turned sexual in 2015 when Tinsley allegedly started sexting Winn and making sexually suggestive comments. Things came to a head when Winn fell asleep in Tinsley's living room and woke up to find the violinist masturbating right next to him.

Winn claims Tinsley texted him to apologize, insisting he had "confused his pills."

Tinsley announced an indefinite hiatus from the Dave Matthews Band in February, and earlier this week Matthews commented on his bandmate's decision not to join the group on its upcoming tour.

"I have a deep love for Boyd," Matthews told Vulture. "He has to deal with his stuff. In many ways I'm sure it would've been a lot easier for him to just say, 'I'm good. Let's go play', but you can't just throw yourself away, your wellness away, because you play violin in a band. It doesn't make any sense to do that. Nobody is happy about this situation. Except that we're happy he can figure some stuff out. I hope he does."
