AceShowbiz - As soon as Marvel revealed that it's been developing a "Ms. Marvel" movie, many people are showing interest in getting involved in the planned project. Among them are Riz Ahmed and Mindy Kaling, who are jonesing to write the superhero movie about the Muslim hero.
Ahmed, whose credits include "The Night Of" and "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story", takes to twitter to put the thought out into the ether. "So when do @MarvelStudios want me @mindykaling @kumailn to get started on the MsMarvel screenplay?" he tweets.

Kaling ("The Mindy Project", "A Wrinkle in Time") also showed her enthusiasm for the project. "I am obsessed with this comic book, I've read them all," she writes on the micro-blogging site. The actress goes on saying that she loves Kamala Khan a.k.a. Ms. Marvel.

Ahmed's suggestion apparently is noticed by the comic creators. Writer G. Willow Wilson tweets, "I may have fainted," suggesting that she finds the idea of Ahmed and Kaling penning the movie amazing. In addition, Marvel editor Sana Amanat joins in.

Ahmed later says in another tweet that he will "hand the pen" to the comic book creators if they somehow got the screenwriting job. However, Wilson replied that it's not the case. "Sana and I would be HONORED if Riz and Mindy wanted to screenwrite anything involving Ms. Marvel. Superheroes are collaborative efforts. They never belong to a single person. Riz would bring experiences+talents to the project that I could not. I would be delighted," she explained.

While it remains to be seen whether Ahmed's pitch is welcomed, Amanat asks Kaling to write a Ms. Marvel "jam comicbook" with Wilson.

It arrives after Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed that the studio is developing a blockbuster about the superhero. Debuted in 2014, "Ms. Marvel" follows Kamala Khan, a Pakistani-American teenager. She's also part Inhuman with the ability to heal rapidly and alter the size and shape of her body. The comic book series went on to be a best-seller and won a Hugo Award in 2015 for best graphic story.
"Ms. Marvel, which is another character in the comic books, the Muslim hero who is inspired by Captain Marvel, is definitely sort of in the works," Kevin told the BBC. "We have plans for that once we've introduced Captain Marvel to the world."
