The rapper accuses 20-year-old teen of defamation after the girl changes her statement regarding the alleged assault.

AceShowbiz - Rapper XXXTENTACION has dropped his defamation lawsuit against an alleged assault victim after she recanted her accusations.

The "Look At Me!" hitmaker hit headlines in March after the teenage girl posted a damning video online, in which he was featured apparently smacking her around the head.

In the accompanying caption, she blasted the hip-hop star, claiming she was made to feel "terrified" for her life if the clip ever leaked.

"Imagine someone doing that to you unprovoked? At 16?" she added.

XXXTentacion, real name Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, denied the accusations and launched legal action against the female last month, insisting she was lying about what actually happened in the old footage. He also alleged her family members had been trying to blackmail him to buy her silence.

However, the 20-year-old has since withdrawn the lawsuit, revealing the youngster has now changed her story, which she shared in a statement the rapper's representatives, issued to TMZ.

"The video was taken years ago when Jahseh and I were both kids and we were just joking around," she declared. "I was not injured as a result of what happened nor did it negatively affect my personal life."

It's one less legal headache for XXXTentacion, who is currently awaiting trail amid allegations of assaulting his pregnant ex in 2016. He is next due in court on 31 May.
