The "American Beauty" veteran is the latest addition to the line-up, though details about her character are currently unclear.

AceShowbiz - Actress Annette Bening the forthcoming "Captain Marvel" movie. The "American Beauty" veteran will join Oscar winner Brie Larson in the Marvel Comics film adaptation, although details about her character have so far been kept under wraps, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Bening is the latest addition to the line-up as "The Avengers" actor Clark Gregg and Djimon Hounsou boarded the project in March, reprising their respective Marvel roles as Agent Phil Coulson and "Guardians of the Galaxy's Korath the Pursuer.

Lee Pace is also returning as Ronan the Accuser, the same character he played in 2014's "Guardians of the Galaxy".

They will all feature alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law, and Ben Mendelsohn in the project, which will star Larson as Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot who discovers superpowers when her DNA is accidentally fused with that of an alien.

"Captain Marvel" is currently in production ahead of a March, 2019 premiere.
