AceShowbiz - Sofia Vergara has reportedly hired a private investigator to look into Nick Loeb, as the former couple's legal battle over two frozen embryos rages on. Loeb and Vergara froze the embryos during their time together in case they chose to become parents in the future, and under the terms of their arrangement, both had to consent before they could be brought to term.
However, the couple split in 2014, and Vergara's former fiance has been battling for the rights to bring the embryos to term but has been blocked twice by the "Modern Family" star, who is now married to Joe Manganiello.
Loeb, 42, filed a third suit against the 45-year-old actress in January in Louisiana, which does consider embryos as "biological human beings," as opposed to California, which views them as product and not human beings.
He claimed he had relocated there before filing suit, and according to court documents obtained by The Blast on Friday, Arpil 27, a private investigator hired by Vergara discovered the address Loeb claims to live at in New Orleans is unoccupied. The investigator declared in legal documents that while researching, he learned that Loeb is not the owner of the property, and the address Loeb provided when registering to vote earlier this year was in fact in Mount Kisco, New York.
The investigator visited the property three times in April and said, "The small house on the property was dark, no vehicles were on the property, and the property appears to be unoccupied." He claimed he even spoke to neighbors, who told him no one has been to the home for months.
Vergara stated in legal documents, "There is, however, no reason to believe that Loeb lives in Louisiana, and to the contrary, there is significant reason to believe that Loeb still lives in New York." She argued that the case has no connection to Louisiana and should be dismissed.
Loeb is yet to comment on the allegations.
