AceShowbiz - Brad Pitt has reportedly snapped up the rights to a film about the New York Times investigation that brought down Harvey Weinstein. Times reporters Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey were recently named Pulitzer Prize winners for their expose about the disgraced movie mogul's alleged sexual misconduct, and now Pitt and his production partners at Plan B Entertainment are set to spotlight their efforts in a new movie.
Ironically, Pitt once challenged Weinstein in 1995 over the producer's behavior towards his then-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow after she told the actor about batting away Harvey's unwanted advances, and now he'll back a movie about the power player's downfall, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film will detail how Kantor and Twohey pieced together their expose that then led to Weinstein issuing an apology and stepping down as a board member at The Weinstein Company.
Since the publication of the Times piece, over 80 women have come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct, rape and assault against Weinstein, who maintains he never had non-consensual sex with a woman.
