The 'American Idol' alum will perform Guns N' Roses' classics during the tour, which will kick off on May 10.

AceShowbiz - Singer Constantine Maroulis has landed a dream job as the frontman for rocker Steven Adler's new tour, paying tribute to classic Guns N' Roses album "Appetite for Destruction". The drummer, who was booted from the band's line-up in 1990, has formed new band Adler's Appetite for a series of live dates, during which the musicians will perform the classic 1987 release in its entirety to mark its 31st anniversary.

Now Adler has recruited former American Idol star Constantine to perform with the group, which will make its live debut at West Hollywood's famous Whisky A Go Go on May 10. Adler's Appetite will then head to Australia for a 10-date trek, before playing various festival gigs later this year.

Expressing his excitement at the new gig, Constantine tells Billboard.com, "Of course, Guns N' Roses was the soundtrack to my youth. To play with Steven has been the highlight of my career. He's a lovely guy, and his playing on Appetite (For Destruction) was second to none, and that sound he made on it defined that whole generation's sound."

Adler adds, "Guns N' Roses are the biggest rock band in the f**kin' world now, and since the guys don't want me to play with them and I love these songs and I'm so proud of them... now I finally have a singer who can compete with the young Axl Rose... That's all I want."

Adler will also be taking his mother Deanna, who wrote the book "Sweet Child Of Mine: How I Lost My Son to Guns N' Roses", on tour to stage question-and-answer sessions with fans at each stop.

The news emerges two years after he briefly reunited with the classic GNR line-up, featuring singer Axl, guitarist Slash, and bassist Duff McKagan, for a few concerts in the U.S. and Argentina on the reunited group's Not in This Lifetime Tour.
